Abstract

Neutron-irradiation effects on optical properties of Poly (vinyl Chloride) (PVC) composites was studied for the neutron flux    (105 n.cm-2.s-1) at room temperature. By the Ultraviolet- Visible spectroscopy the optical absorption in the wavelength 200-900 were recorded for the thick films of (PVC) doped with Zn(etx)2 salt complex have been prepared  by coast method with fixed thickness(120) microns, the optical constants such as refractive index and Extinction Coefficient and reflectance have been studied for these deposited thick films before and after irradiation in order to obtain the influence of neutron radiation on these constants. The results show that these optical constants exhibit a change in its value and that will be discussed in present work.

Key word:-  PVC  polymer, optical properties of polymers, radiation of polymers.
