Changes in Temperature, Humidity, Microorganism Parameters during Soilification Sewage Sludge

Sayiter Yildiz, Mustafa Degirmenci

Abstract

Obtaining new products from sewage sludge with Soilification method is an important alternative for the disposal of sludge. In this study, windrow-composting methods are used by adding bulking agent substances to the sewage sludge in different proportions. Each stack temperature and humidity were measured at 24 weeks. Also stacks of micro-organisms were analyzed by taking samples at various temperatures. In each windrow containing bulking agent material, temperature and humidity changes were monitored. In addition, depending on the temperature changes have been observed in the number and type of microorganisms.

Key words: Sewage sludge, Soilification, composting.
