Analysis of Total Life Cycle Costing and Efficiency for Pumps

H. Sevil Ergur

Abstract

Many pump users know the total cost of the product when used with the opportunity to pre-investment analysis. However, in addition to the initial investment costs, maintenance and replaced parts' sexpenses, taxes, such as energy use should also be taken into consideration. Entries are taken into account for energy costs in the electricity required to run the pump and mechanical or pneumatic controlled driver. As a result of the selection made carefully, life cycle of industrial pumps may be up to 50 years or higher value. In order to increase the life cycle, the decision to be taken by the user to prevent any problems in the next period should be sufficient accuracy. Besides, in determining the preferred life cycle of the pump and in making decisions, total operating costs must be analysed.

Keywords: Life cycle cost, Efficiency, Total operating cost, Purchase cost, Energy and maintenance cost, Pump selection.
