New Generation Advanced High Strength Steels: Developments, Trends and Constraints

Abstract

It is very obvious that new technological improvements take place rapidly in steel production industry. With this progress, which is basically forced by the need for new engineering materials in automotive industry, new generation steels have been developed and commercialized continuously. In the field of high-strength steels, cost effective, new products are also developed with better mechanical properties like Q&P, TBF, etc. In this context, recent events in advanced high strength steels (AHSS) are investigated and the applications, mechanical properties and availabilities of them are analyzed. Some brief explications are also made for the necessary material characterization tests for the CAE simulations of AHSS
