African Immigrant with the Problems of Polygamy in Mpundu Eugene’s Casse Pas Ton Balai

Busari Lasisi

Abstract

One of the values which forms the subject of this work is none other than polygamy which African immigrants export to their host countries. The practice of this polygamy often contradicts with European marriage laws. A French man for instance cannot take two or more wives at a time. Thus, Africans immigrants wishing to live in the light of this polygamous tradition outside their countries are confronted with European or French legal problems which Mpundu Eugene brings to fore in his novel titled Casse pas ton balai. A sociological approach is adopted.
