Apparatus Used for a Smooth Functioning of African Dictatorship: A Critical Analysis of Mongo Beti's Les Deux Meres De Guillaume Ismael Dzewatama: Futur Camionneur

Busari Lasisi

Abstract

After the departure of the colonial masters, the governance of African states fall in the hands of African themselves. Researches have shown that African leaders who had the opportunity of leading the affairs of their various countries had abused that privilege. The behaviors of them are worst than that of the colonial master hence the birth of dictatorship. These privileged African leaders make use of different apparatus for the smooth functioning of this dictatorship. The present paper tries to bring to light these apparatus put in place in the African dictator countries as highlighted by Mongo Beti in Les deux mères de Guillaume Ismaël Dzewatama: future camionneur. The work concludes that dictatorship is real in post independent African society and that African intellectuals need to wake up in order to fight this demon.
