Forage Seed System Assessment: The Case of Eastern Zone of Tigray, Ethiopia

Abstract

This survey study in titled with the “Forage Seeds System Assessment’’ had the objectives to assess the overall forage seed system and to find out its opportunities and constraints in eastern zone of Tigray by taking Atsbi-wenberta and Kilte-Awulaelo districts as sample representative of the zone. The data was collected on Dec, 2014, from 151 sample household heads. For every responsible body to upgrade the status of the farmer on skill, training and means of wealth accumulation systems such as introducing market oriented improved inputs that could upgrade the livestock production and productivities, introducing the improved forage seeds at fair price.
