Abstract

Apoptosis is the formation of the balance between the life and death of cells which is one of the important mechanisms to provide tissue homeostasis. To maintain a regular way of life, the numerical balance of the cells that make up living things is important. Cells die in response to various stimuli and they do this by following programmed and regular way. In this case, apoptosis separates from necrosis. The imbalance between apoptosis which calls by cell death and cell proliferation (mitosis) causes the formation of many diseases. Apoptosis accelerates in AIDS, Alzheimer, Parkinson, insulin-dependent diabetes, hepatitis C infection and such as myocardial infarction in diseases but it decelerates in autoimmune diseases and cancer. For the prevention and treatment of these diseases, It requires a better understanding of the formation mechanism of apoptosis. In this review, we particularly aimed to provide information about the mechanism of apoptosis.
