Correlations Some Associated Characters Grain Yield in Maize

Gul Ebru Orhun

Abstract

In this research, we used 21 F1 maize hybrids obtained by 7x7 half diallel crossing and 7 inbred lines as material. We examined interrelationships between some characters associated grain yield and thousand kernel weight using correlation analyses. We found significantly the most positive correlation (r = 0.542**) between thousand kernel weight and the number of days to tasseling. Furthermore, our results showed positive correlation meaningfully between most traits, and it showed that number of days silking has the most possitive correlation (r = 0.988**) with number of days to tasseling.
