Abstract

Graphene-gold -single walled carbon nanotubes nanocomposites (AuNPs/GN-SWCNT) were synthesized through a simple one-step process, and were used to modify working electrode sensing platform. The nano-composites were characterized using X-ray Diffraction (XRD, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDX), cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The nanocomposite material after immobilization on glassy carbon electrode showed excellent catalytic properties towards propranolol.  The electrocatalytic effect for oxidation of propranolol was reflected by a significant increase of the peak current with a significant shift in peak potential toward lower oxidation potential as compared with the unmodified electrode. The detection limit for propranolol was found to be 0.04 × 10–6µA/µM of propranolol with linear correlation coefficient R2 = 0.996
