Determination of Condition Factor and Length-Weight Relationship of the Prucian Carp, Carassius Gibelio (Bloch, 1782) Inhabiting Seyhan Dam Lake

Abstract

In this study, it is examined the Prucian carp, Carassius gibelio (Bloch, 1782) which is captured by montly sampling during the period of April 2012 to March 2013 in the Seyhan Dam Lake to investigate for the condition factor and length-weight relationship. There are 142 female (%88.75), 18 male (% 11.25) specimens in the population. The total length distribution from 11.10 to 29.50 cm and weight varied between of 40.10 to 412.90 g; length-weight relationship was calculated as W = 0.0519 L^2.650. The mean condition factor of males and females were found as 2.199 and 1.770 respectively.
