Architecture Students’ Attitudes towards Creative Drama Teaching Method

Abstract


The study aims to determine the effect of using creative drama as a teaching method on architecture students’ attitudes towards creative drama method in architectural education process containing theoretical and applied lessons. Applications were conducted in the lessons “Environmental Behavioral Knowledge” and “Basic Design” in Department of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, Karadeniz Technical University. In the study, semi-structured focus group interview form was used as a data collection tool. The student opinions obtained here were analysed through content analysis method. The results indicate that creative drama is responded positively by the students. It is also under consideration that creative drama method, which enables learning process to be turned into an attractive, participative, interactive and educational environment, can be mainstreamed in architectural education.
