Abstract

This study aimed to explore the training needs of the female teachers of the first three grades at the public basic schools in Amman from their perspective. To identify those needs, the descriptive analytical approach was adopted. A questionnaire was designed through Google Forms. The link to the questionnaire was uploaded to several Facebook groups that target teachers in Jordan. The questionnaire targets the planning, teaching, and evaluation areas. When uploading the questionnaire, the researcher added that the questionnaire can be filled only by the female teachers of the first three grades at the public basic schools in Amman. The questionnaire was filled out by 422 female teachers from the population. The random sampling method was used. The data were analyzed using SPSS software.  It was found that the extent of the need for meeting the training needs of the female teachers of the first three grades at the public basic schools in Amman is moderate in all the areas jointly and separately. In terms of planning, female teachers need to develop their capabilities to choose educational aids and instructional strategies that fit with the goals and content of the lessons. In the teaching areas, they are in need to develop their capabilities to employ national theories and instructional strategies. In the evaluation area, they need to develop their capability to identify the students suffering from learning difficulties.
